What would be a great set (or two) of memory for my new build.

GOAL: Super fast for general work purposes; pretty fast for coffee-breaks !

BUILD:
* i7-6700k
* MSI 980 Ti Golden Edition
* Mo-Bo....haven't figured that out either. (Looking at Asus Extreme/Assemly edition--not sure if I need to spend that much, ASRock, or Gigabyte)

FOR DRAM, I''ve narrowed it down G.Skill Trident vs. Corsair Dominator. The Dominators seem to cost more. Not sure if they are worth the extra bones. I do like the limited edition orange though because it matches the vid.card.

PLEASE RECOMMEND:
+ What to get (16/32g); 2666/3000/3200/3400, etc
+ 2x8 vs 4x4 . [I'm going to do at least 16gb. If so, plan would be to do 2x8 so I could add (2) more in a year or so. Unless 4x4 is better]
+ latency ?

I'm a noob and this is my first build. So, ALL advice is *GREATLY* appreciated.

The GSkill Trident Z are great sticks, they just released some newer sets with 8 and 16GB sticks, I grabbed the 2x16GB 3200/14 which are sweet, have paired them with 2 8GB sticks from my original 4x8GB 3200/16 set so am running 48GB. You'll be very happy with the TriZ sets ;)

Cool T-man.

I will definitely aim for the 2x16s. Thanks for tip on pairing with 4x8. I didn't know you could do that. I thought all had to be same.

If you are interested in helping me with mo-bo and/or SSD, please check out my other links. (I'm going to leave this thread unsolved for the moment. I'd like to get a few opinions. Who knows, maybe some Corsair zealots will jump on hear and tell me to "Dominator or Die" :)

I'm glad you mentioned that. There seems to be like 900 types. It's worse than Baskin Robbins--I'm in there all day trying to decide (the chocolate chip mint is yummy, but pralines and cream is over the top!)

T-man;
I furgot to mention. I saw this review also about the 4000's. Based on the conclusions, it sounds like the 4000's would be overkill? Sound right to you, or should I look into those?

Awesome. I pulled the trigger and bought the TridentZ (2x8) 3200's CL14. Then, I'll plan to drop in another set of (2x8's) in about a year after my credit card has recovered!

...guess I"ll chalk this up to another "live and learn" :).
I just went back to my order at NewEgg and was going to cancel it to buy 4 2x8's, but the order status just updated to shipped! I'm hoping it's still the right decision though. I'm spending more on this build that I should be!!! And I'm hoping 16GB is sufficient for now. I primarily need a fast machine for work stuff, the gaming's just a nice bonus and I think with the 6700k and Matrix card I should be fine in that area.
