keyboard not working on windows 10

hi my keyboard won't work on my computer I know for a fact that the usb ports aren't broken and i have a different keyboard that uses a ps2 port and it still does not work. oh and i have tried both usb 2.0 and 3.0

have you tried another keyboard?
have you tried that keyboard on another computer?

i just tried and it didn't work but my ps2 keyboard worked when i first built my computer last night for about 1 hour and then i unplug it to see if my new one would work and it didn't so i plug the ps2 back in and it didn't work and i tried my bothers ps2 which i know for a fact that it works and it didn't. the pc recognizes the keyboards i used the keys just aren't responding.

ps2 keyboards should be plugged in while the system is off.
ps2 is not plug and play aware. it has to be connected before the system is started. you r message sounds like you just plugged it in while the system is running. USB ok, PS2 no

usb ports working. keyboards working....
try both keyboards at the same time. I have three on my pc now.
I want to tell you to clear the CMOS but without a working keyboard you will not be able to enter setup again.
may have to have it replaced, motherboard I mean
