Evga 980 ti classified or 980 ti matrix

The Matrix is about $100 more than the Classified on Newegg right now. The Matrix is a very nice looking card with that beefy cooler but personally I liked the old matrix color scheme (red/black) more. The Classified is no slouch however. The classified is a very large card as well albeit not as large as the Matrix. The classified also has a gorgeous back plate and a very classy logo/lighting on the top of card.

The Classified card comes with an overclock to 1190mhz on the core and the Matrix is OC'd to 1216mhz on the core so not a big difference there and of course you can always overclock yourself if you wanted to. I don't overclock mine because I just don't see much of a point. It's already running at 1400mhz with the boost and I've tried overclocking it and did push it to near 1500mhz on the core but did not see much of a performance gain so I just left it at the factory OC.

The Matrix card does not have the fans off in idle mode feature for some odd reason but the Classified does have it. I can tell you from personal experience with the classy that the fans become audible at around 50-60% and get pretty loud at around 80% The Matrix fans are even louder than the Classifieds apparently but they do maintain lower temps.

Lastly, I've been told many times now that Asus VGA Support is terrible but EVGA support is the best in the business. I have not had experience with either yet.
