HDD Making Click sound

Solution
Hi there doohbacles,

I believe this should be an internal drive right?

Have you tested the drive? In case you haven't it may be a good idea to do so: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
I believe you can use some brand specific tool as well.

Another thing you can try is to use different cables(SATA and especially power ones) and attach the drive to a different port.

It is always a good idea to have a back up of your most important data, even when you are not facing HDD related issues.

Let us know how this goes,

I can guarantee you that it is a dead HDD unless your computer is pretty new. When the HDD clicks does the system suddenly slow down? If your HDD is shot I can recommend you free cloning software, a $20 cloning device (you only need this if you don't have two or more OPEN SATA ports), and here is the video on the software and how to use it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UrgD0e8rp8

Here is a link to the device: http://www.amazon.com/Dyconn-Adapter-Converter-Optical-Blu-Ray/dp/B00AP9S3WI

Hope this helped!
