Hey, as the title says i'm building my first skylake pc & i need help to check if there's any compatibility issues.

Mobo: MSI Z170A PC Mate, LGA1151, DDR4, ATX
CPU: i5-6600k, 3,5ghz
RAM:Kingston 8gb DDR4
Cooler; Still thinking about one, CM 212 evo is too big for the case that i have which is Zalman R1
GPU; Old 560 TI, will be upgrading that one to 970 later on.
PSU: XFX 550w

Would you consider getting a new case, as that one is relatively old and somewhat small? As for the rest of your parts, I would recommend an evga 650w PSU, which you can get here: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20650y1

As for your cooler, considering you get a new case the 212 evo should be fine.

The RAM you have chosen is fine, however at some point you're gonna want to upgrade to 16 gigs, and better soon then later. Games like COD and other more demanding games recommend AT LEAST 8 gigs of RAM and that number is only going to go up in upcoming years.

Also, if you are only going to be gaming, I would recommend a downgrade to an i5-6600 (non K) or a 6500. Then, you can go for a cheaper MSI B150 mobo, unless you...

I'm saying this because the b150 board has 1 pcie slot. You could even consider going AMD and going for an 8350 if you are PURELY gaming. However, you might see some noticeable bottlenecking if you add another 970.

I'd recommend selling that 560 ti and getting 30-40 bucks, which can justify your 16 gigs of RAM.
