Hi. I have a Dell Precision Tower 7910 with a LSI 3008 SAS Controller on the Motherboard.

I have four drives in it that I tested with Seatools and Seatools states the SMART on 3 drives (SATA) failed and on a fourth (SAS) states that it does not have SMART (not an option to test). I am not running any RAID.

I am running win 10 pro and windows does not report any errors.

The drives are:

ST6000NM0024 (3.5" SATA Enterprise Drive) - Around 18 months old, 13,126 power on hours
ST6000NM0024 (3.5" SATA Enterprise Drive) - Around 18 months old, 14,456 power on hours
ST750LX003 (2.5" SATA Drive) - older, 17,867 power on hours
ST8000NM0075 (3.5" SAS Enterprise Drive) - brand new, 109 power on hours

Note that Crystal Disk info says three of the drives are ok, but does not see the the fourth ST8000NM0075 SAS drive.

The short drive self test passes on all.

I tried SPECCY too and it says the drives are good. Although no SMART reporting on the SAS drive.

I am thinking this is a False report in Seatools that the drives failed, maybe something to do being behind a SAS controller.

I emailed Seagate and am waiting a response but wanted to check here too.

thanks

With my experience, I only use Crystal Disk instead of manufacturer software as it works with all drives, I'd say believe Crystal Disk. Have you tried un-installing and re-installing Seatools?
