Ok so I just finished building my first pc and I had quite a bit of trouble installing my CPU cooler (Hyper 212 evo). When installing I placed the heatsink wrong and had to remove and re-apply my thermal paste (I used Arcticlean 1 & 2) so I was a bit nervous.
My CPU is the i7 6700k as stated in the title and I have NOT overclocked it.
I decided to stress test my CPU and check the temps just to makes sure I got it right. I ran a blend test on prime95 v28.7 and CPU usage according to task manager was between 96-99% at all times during the test.
I measured core temps using Speccy (from piriform).
I ran the test for about 10 minutes and the avg Core temps generally stayed between 63-65 degrees with core 0 occasionally reaching 68.
Unfortunately Im a bit of a noob with CPU temps and this information means next to nothing to me. Is this ok ? do i need to remove my CPU cooler and try again ? Thanks in advance :)

Considering how hard Prime95 hammers the CPU 65C seems ok. Depending on what thermal paste you used you might be able to get better temps. If you used whatever came with the cooler, then some Prolimatech PK-3 will probably improve your temperatures.

Watch out for Prime 95 and Haswell / Skylake. Your temps are fine though, so don't worry, but it's better to use AIDA64.
