Hey guys, I recently bought an Alienware 17 r3. It has an i7 6820HK Skylake processor, 16gb ram, 2 SSD, and a GTX980m. I bought it from eBay and the seller claims the laptop is a gtx980m 8gb graphics card, but I am having trouble verifying that. When I play gta on the gtx980m, it says that I only have 4gb to play with, but when I play on the integrated gpu, it says that I have 8gb. I thought that was weird, so I removed one of the ram sticks and the gtx stayed the same at 4gb, but the integrated gpu went down to 4gb! So now I am very confused! Is this how the gtx is supposed to work? Does it boost the integrated gpu to 8gb, because right now it seems as if my integrated gpu is using half of my installed ram for gaming. When I look at GPU-Z, it says that my gtx is only 4GB, but it cant give me any info on my intel 530 gpu. The seller just claims that gtx only shows up as 4gb because directx doesn't support both the 6820hk and the gtx980m at the same time and that they will soon, but I see that as a lie. PLEASE HELP AND VERIFY! THANKS!

Your gtx980m is a 4gb model. The integrated graphics have nothing to do with it and will show whatever ram you have in your pc, since it's shared with the integrated gpu. The seller is BSing you.
