i just bought a new amd fx6300 cpu for my msi 760 pm34 motherboard. The problem is than when i put my new cpu in my computer would start up and then go to windows preparing automatic repair, but when i took out my new cpu and put my old one back in it works fine. Do i need a bios upgrade or something, or is my processor not compatible with my motherboard?

If you are getting a display and seeing what you describe, you don't need a BIOS update. But check anyway to see what BIOS you have. You can either watch the splash screen at boot up, or run CPU-Z and go to the mainboard tab. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
