Does having a gigabit network speed mean more router bandwidth?

I am thinking about buying a n450 router but my home network speed is 10/100 Mbps. Will i be able to use all 450 Mbps bandwidth on the router or do i need a gigabit network for that. If i will get all 450 Mbps does having a gigabit network mean faster NAS data transfer speed?

An N450 router is a WIFI designation that says that the router can support three 150Mbit (link speed) streams simultaneously. The actual WIFI speed will depend on your client hardware, distance to the router and any WIFI interference.

Gigabit wired network is beneficial for NAS access.

So the gigabit network will not affect the bandwidth of the router and i will get the same results with a 10/100 Mbps network. The gigabit network would only help if i had a NAS?
