I recently purchased some corsair dominator platinum RAM for my newest build. (Can we get a moment of silence for my wallet...) However, I noticed that the top seemed to come off using some tool that I forget the name of, but that I have. If I were to take that top piece off, could I paint it with regular spray paint? Is it safe/practical? I have seen other people with what seems to be painted sticks of dominator platinum RAM.

I do that all the time with the Mushkin Redline ridgebacks ... I am talking the entire heat sink tho, not just the top. Comes off w/a screwdriver. I believe the Tridents and Dominators still allow the tops to come off ... haven't had any of their DDR4 as of yet, but also if ya use a hair drier to soften the pasty TIM, the whole thing, used to at least, come off .... lotta youtoob videos available.

Any type of paint you would recommend? I currently have on me some regular spray paint for general use (Krylon, I think). Would I be able to use something simple like that?

Thanks for the suggestion. I have already seen that video, but thanks regardless. I knew someone was going to recommend one of Linus' videos.
