Hello guys I know this was asked alot of times but I will do it again since they are out for so long all the benchmarks should be complete now. I cant chose between those two for gaming. I know that for gaming in raw power performance the 6700k wins but it has only 4 cores so in future when games will require more than 4 it is gonna be pretty much useless, while 5820k has lower but similar performance to 6700k it has 6 cores which is gonna last longer for future games.
Which one should i get.

Solution

the 6700k even with only 4 cores will hold its own for a long time, remember the days when the Pentium 4 and AMD FX was new? then single core CPU's died then the Core 2 Duo came in, then quad cores, i think quad core CPU's will last a long...

Solution
The 6700k has hyperthreading so you will in effect have 8 functioning cores... the idea that the 6700k or any 4 / 6 core CPU will be somehow curtailed by gaming in the near future is not credible.

If using up to 2 GFX cards, the 6700k is the superior choice
If using 3 GFX cards, the 5820k is the superior choice
If using 4 GFX cards, the 5930k is the superior choice

I would say it really comes down to what chip-set you want to use x99 or z170? As far as gaming is concerned the stronger the core the better it performs. The i7-5820k has more cores (6 Physical, 12 Logical), but the i7-6700k has better per core performance making it slightly better for gaming.

Correct that is what i said but. When games will require more than 4 cores.. 6700k will be almost useless while 5820k could still go. And chipset does not matter for me cause i am building new system for gaming that will last alot of years.

Yeah I know, x99 will have the intel extreme/high end i7's with huge cache's, ungodly amounts of cores, and quad channel memory (which isn't very useful yet but maybe in the future?). z170 is more "mainstream" if you can call $400 i7's mainstream. ;)
