So these mobos kinda a same , maybe a slightly more oc capability to the asus (data from motherboardbenchmark) , but the question is : What about the long term durability , the gigabyte metal armor over the pci helps a lot or its just marketing?

They're selling as a feature because possibly in the future GPUs will be super heavy. That's not that likely seeing as they're all going with HBM2 for the next generation. That actually means the cards will probably be significantly smaller. I have a Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 and it's a great board but the metal on the expansion slots is just marketing fluff. I'd buy either of those boards, they're both great value for money and have good audio solutions.
