Hi Guys,

MyCurrent Rig:

CPU: G3258 - 4.3ghz
GPU: R9 270 2GB MSI
RAM: 8GB [4x2]DDR3
Mobo: MSI H81-P33

I am very contended with the above RIG :D :D for gaming......

But the problem now is .... i started using UE4 for game design ... and i found out that DUAL-CORE is bottle necking and affecting my rendering time...

So planning to buy a better CPU...

The CPUs i have in mind are:

The AMD FX-6300 and the Intel core i5 4590/4460/hit me up if anything better!

My Budget is 15k INR [220 USD] Approx

Thanks!,

Don't mind him, he's clueless....

Might as well go with the 4590, it's better in every way, by at least 5% (up to ~10%)

either i5 is going to be a lot better, and you get to keep your current mobo

Wow....Thanks!

i3? isn't it a dual core with HT?

i5 is better at single core performance.... but wouldn't the extra threads in the FX be any good? atleast for rendering?????

i am planning to upgrade my ram as well :D to 16gb any suggestion guys?????

i dont see why people say pointless u cant overclock without a z mobo..... i am using my g3258 at 4.3 ghz with stock cooler temps dont cross 65 at max load...... am i missing some thing here?

The G3258 is the only Intel CPU that can be overclocked on a non Z series chipset motherboard. Even then, Intel has tried to clamp down on it through a microcode update in Windows. To overclock a 4690k, you must have a Z87 or Z97 motherboard, there is no way around that. If you don't want to also swap out your motherboard, you're best off getting a locked i5, with the 4590 generally considered to be the best balance between price and performance.
