Two Routers Confusion

I have had an issue with my Strict NAT type for over a year now, and I have finally made a bit of progress. I have altered many settings on my Asus RT-N66R, including port-forwarding, UPnP, and DMZ. None of the settings seem to have any effect on my NAT type. I have recently discovered that my ISP had set up an additional router, a Mikrotik RouterBoard.

I believe that this is the root of my problems. I have yet to actually figure out the use of this second router, though. I must go through this router, because if I do not run through this router, my internet is no longer working.

Well, I guess my question is what is this router used for? I am unable to access the settings due to the lack of a password.

Why am I not able to bypass the 1st router(Mikrotik) by just directly connecting to the second one(Being the Asus)?

192, but the Mikrotik is also 192. I go through a local company called Concept Cable.

If your address starts off 192.168 on your WAN interface then you will not be able to port forward. I have seen quite a few ISP's do this to reduce the number of public IP addresses they have to use. You say the Microtik is also 192. How can you see this? Can you log into the Mikrotik?

I installed a program that tells me that I have 2 routers and it tells me their IP's. I am unable to log into the Mikrotik because they changed the default password.

What would a Public IP do?

To be honest I am not sure what your actual issue is. I assumed you needed to port forward something into your network from the internet. This cannot be done if your router has a private IP address on its WAN port (like 192.168), as this means your router is not exposed to the internet directly. If you need to be able to port forward and such, you need a public IP address that would put your router directly on the internet without going through a private network first.

The IP I was referring to on the MikroTik RouterBoard was the Internal IP. I have no way of figuring out the WAN IP on the MikroTik.
