Can be Yosemite be installed on Macbook Pro Mid-2015 (Model: A1398) with Intel Core i7, 2.8GHz, 16GB RAM.

Tried to install Yosemite from a USB drive and got the do not enter symbol.

Solution
You should try the Internet install. If you have a licence for Yosemite it will be one of the offered options; if not, then you are not entitled to run Yosemite on that computer.

Yes, that will run Yosemite. How did you produce the USB drive, and what are you doing to select it as the boot device? (The symbol you see indicates that a bootable drive was not found.)

The easiest way to install OS X is from the Internet. Why are you going for Yosemite rather than El Capitan?

Hi Henry,

Thank you for your updates.

Just want to know whether this model is supported for Yosemite OS X. I have a USB bootable (Yosemite), When I pressed power button, pressed the Option key to select the USB pen drive. Once selected the drive and hit enter it gives a no enter symbol. The same Yosemite bootable pen drive works in another laptops and mac minis.

How to find out that the MacBook Pro laptops are not degradable to lower OS X versions. Any specific firmware (version) or by seeing the no entry symbol.
