980Ti +550MHz memory OC safe?

Hi folks,

I recently got the Gainward Phoenix GS model of 980Ti and having spent some time playing with Afterburner, the Heaven and Firestrike benchmarks, and Kombustor, I seem to be stable at +110MHz on the core and +550MHz on the memory before I start getting instability and artefacts.

Having done a bit more research into what kind of OCs people are getting on similar cards, while the core clock bump seems pretty standard, +550 on the memory seems rather high!

Temperatures top out at a little under 75 and games seem fine, but I wondered if any more longtime 980Ti owners might be able to tell me if this memory clock sounds a bit excessive or unsafe from experience.

Cheers!

Agree it sounds maybe on the high side but temps appear OK, and each card will have it's own individual limits, haven't really pressed mine, so can't say. Have seen people running 7700 or better. Would (as you appear to be), continue to monitor temps and stability

Thats a good overclock. Im running my 980TI with a +175Mhz core and 750Mhz Memory overclock and a powerboost to 130%. Although I have the K|ngp|n edition which has a higher power phase and Samsung memory, it runs stable and cool. Yours sounds great if your stable and temps are under control! Great job.

Mine is fully capable of 600+ but I don't overclock it at all because the card already hits the 110% power target with just the core overclock. I'd rather have the full core overclock than take away from that to have the memory overclocked.

I'm thinking of using a modded GPU BIOS, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
