Would this CPU be good for VMware

And I did run vm with an i3 and 8gb and it did just fine

a dual core is not a very good option for vms if you plan on doing any work in them. a 6300 is a fine cpu for running vms. if your looking to buy used a xeon e5640 and a dell t3500 mobo will cost about 50 dollars total and would do pretty good for vms. what exactly will you be doing in the vm?

Awesome man! Yeah i currently use The i3 rig at my mothers house but I'm planning to build a PC at my dads house so. I will be ordering the parts tonight or the following day.
