Low fps on every mmorpg. No idea why

Every single mmorpg I've played, whether it's Blade and Soul or WoW or any of them, I get really bad fps and I have no idea why. I know it's not network related, I have a 30mb down and 2.5 up connection. I took my rig to my friends place who has 100mb down and 25mb up with the fps and performance results still the exact same. I'll get 20-120 fps but soon as I get into crowded areas I linger at 20 - 40 fps. My buddy's rig has core i7 4770k @ stock settings and a gtx 660. He gets like 80+ at all times with max settings + 1920x1080 resolution.

My hardware:
Core i5 3570k @ 4.4ghz - Noctua NH-D15 Cooler
Gtx 770 x2 2gb windforce SLI - 16x PCI-E slots x2
Corsair 750 watt gold rated psu
Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard
Mushkin enhanced 1600mhz 8 gig dual channel memory
Samsung 128 gig SSD
1 Terabyte Western Digital HD secondary.
Asus 24" GTG 2ms 1080p HD Monitor. Single monitor.

I can run far cry 4 on ultra 1920x1080p @ 80+ fps constantly with 2-4x AA. Witcher 3 Maxed with 2x AA at 60-100 fps. Rarely drops to 50.

So why are all my mmo games running like crap regardless of the settings??? I can drop them to the lowest possible and it makes no difference, I'll still get 20-30 fps drops in town or anywhere else where he does not. I simply don't understand this issue. My rig is basically a power house machine that runs even the hardest games prime with AA and everything else. So I have no idea why it struggles so bad with mmos. Boss fights it'll drop to 15 fps when 8-10 people are beating on it.

MMOs run more on your RAM than your GPU. Upgrade to 16 GB of RAM and that should fix your problem.

Some have trouble with SLI builds as well, but if it's universal, I'm going with RAM.

If you want to test it briefly and see if you can boost performance even a little, turn off your virus scan and anything else running in the background and see if the fps increases. That would confirm the RAM issue.

Actually the mmo runs as much on your cpu as it does gpu the ram really doesn't have that much to do with it. As far as the fps drop it is well known that sli builds are not optimal for mmo type games if you took one card out and tested it i would bet you would do better with a single card. Not really your setup just these games are not designed to run on sli setup.

I've ran all my games with a single gtx 770 before SLI for nearly a year and it made no difference either. Still the same results. I guess I could try upgrading to more memory but I have my doubts it will change much.

The ram is not your problem 8 gigs is plenty for mmo's i cant say anything about the 770 i came from amd to nvidia about the time the 900 series started went from a msi 970 to a zotac 980ti and loved the both of them . 970 got me well over 100 fps on 1080 on wow i havent been on wow since i got the 980ti but every other game ive tried are just unbelievable.

Yeah I have no idea maybe it's just weird optimization issues or something. No idea why it does that. I'm starting to think it's just the series of graphic cards and driver related issues maybe.
