I'm putting together a computer for a 3D animation and Video workstation at work. Here is a list of the parts I have picked out from pcpartpicker.com: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RdXdpg

I've got a couple of questions before I order everything.
1. I'm still trying to decide between the Xeon E5-1650 v3 which I have on this list, or the i7-5930K.
This computer will be used at work only and I'm not very familiar with overclocking, which I understand the 5930K is a beast at. Will the Xeon be more stable overall?

2. Is my power supply enough for what I'm working with here? I've currently got a 650w power supply listed, but considering going down to a 550w power supply. I'm assuming that I'd want the hold onto the larger one if I'm planing on doing some overclocking (not sure if I will be yet), but I'd also like to leave some room for expansion (mostly in drives and a second GPU). I'm never sure about how much power supply I really need, so any help here is welcome!

Thanks for taking the time guys! I look forward to some feedback.

Solution
1) I'd do the i7 basically the same CPU but since you have X99 board then you have the option to OC. Personally though I wouldn't get aggressive with OC though if you are rendering.

2)PSU is fine I'd leave it unless the 550 is considerably cheaper.

I would change the SSD though. That mobo has a M.2 with PCIe so you can get something like the Samsung 950 Pro which will be massively faster than the SATA III drive you have listed more expensive though

Thank you for the response! The 550w is about 20 dollars less expensive, but if I overclock the cpu I'm guessing that the extra power may be helpful, especially if I expand later. Basically I wasn't sure if I had too much power for what I was running.

I saw the 950 pro from Samsung. That is going to be on my first round of upgrades when the time comes. It's just going to add too much cost right now.

Your response definitely makes me feel better about the psu though. Thanks!

Not a problem. For 20 though I would leave it That'll give you plenty of room for OC or adding another GPU or more HDD's whatever you feel like really. Plus PSU's tend to last longer when they are running at less than rated.
