My computer is an ASUS M2N68-AM-SE2. It was upgraded to Win7 in may,2014. Then it was upgraded again 2x (first with free Windows 10 Free in July of last year, and then a day ago to the current Windows 10 Home).
I received a Kingston 240 GB SSOnowV for Valentine's day.
My question is, will the updates and toolbox for this SSD(SV300S37A/240G work beings the pc is now running Windows 10?
I realize it may sound dumb, but i was not aware that the SSD needed these until I talked wilth the friend who did the first upgrade, tonight.
I am hoping these may help with my current issues; The pc "finds" the SSD , but doesn't know what to do with it(my conjecture) and keeps showing a message " to select the correct boot device or insert media into the boot device and press any key".what is so weird is I was able to clone the HDD to the SSD using an installation kit.

Solution
This sounds really unfortunate. One should always be really careful with that kind of stuff on the internet. Especially if you're getting devices from an unauthorized re-seller (no matter the brand). You should always check with the manufacturer's website for guidelines on how to avoid counterfeit products (e.g. specific labels, where's the product made, etc). I really hope you're able to get your money back.

Fingers crossed!
Hey there, simonchipmunk.

So from what I understand, you're asking if the updated OS (Windows 10) and a toolbox of some sort (I really don't know the program) will work if you clone the drive to the SSD? If this is the question, then yes. If the cloning process has been completed successfully, everything should work fine just as it does with the HDD. The cloning process basically creates and exact copy of a drive/partition to another drive, so there's no reason for this not to work.
However, you've mentioned that you've cloned the drive, but you're getting an error "select the correct boot device or insert media into the boot device and press any key", this is usually shown when there's an issue with the OS or the drive (or the cables and ports sometimes). So if you've went to your BIOS and set the SSD as first boot device after you've cloned the OS and you get this error, the cloning process might not have been successful or something else might have gone wrong.

Please let me know if you have any questions whatsoever.

I apologize for not mentioning the name of the toolkit. it is the one for the Kingston SSD I had purchased. I downloaded it and the firmware or software required for the SSD.The SSD is Kingston 250 GB SSDnow0V, SV300537A/240G. I cloned my hardrive using the VisionTek universal installation Kit. When it was done ,I looked at the SSD and it had a complete copy of my hard drive on it.
So I removed the hDD, and installed the SSD in the pc. when I booted up into the BIOS it shows the SSD and my DVD/CD ROM, but then I get the message I wrote about earlier. I tried removing the cables from the DVD and Booting up but no go.i stillgot that message. Then I reinstalled the HDD and now the Bios recognizes only the hDD, and when I look at the Boot priority,i t shows the hDD as primary, but for Secondary,it still lists the DVD/CD ROM. I am thoroughly frustrated now. The pc is ASUS M2N68-AM-SE2 and the friend told me I would have to Flash the BiOS. But how can I, when he did not provide me with the support discs for the Bios, and drivers and utilities?
right now I have this SSD that may or may not contain the copy of the hDD, and no way toerase the SSD.help!!!!

Boogieman; When my Pc was upgraded in may 2014,it had Windows 7 installed on it.
I am conjecturing that the fried9who upgraded my pc0 must have installed the drivers, chipset, Raid, and audio drivers for XP, Vista, and Windows 7 32 bit on it.
The BIOS is 0.7.06 from AMD. I found the BIOS for the motherboard at ASUS support, and it is for Vista 32 Bit. there are newer BIOS downloads that include ones for Win7, 32 bits.
I am scared out of my wits, as I was told never to mess with the BIOS other than to change the Boot priority on the pc.

Unfortunately I can't really help with selecting the correct version of BIOS and updating, but you should be able to count on the guys from the motherboard's customer support to guide you through the process.
As for not being able to boot to Windows with the clone (the SSD), the cloning process might not have been successful, so it wouldn't hurt to try it again. Take a look at this tutorial: http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows and try it out, to see if you'd be able to boot to Windows afterwords by using the SSD.

Boogieman: I will check out that link you posted.
I will check with ASUS support talso.
but here is the kicker.
I tried to register the SSD with Kingston, and their Tech support sent me a message saying that the SSD is counterfeit!!
I was really shocked to learn this. I am initiating a RMA to the Seller via PayPal and EBay.
I will still go to the linkand check with ASUS re. BIOS Update

Well, I went to ASUS Support, downloaded the next highest BIOs update, burned the download to a disc and inserted it intothe Pc and rebooted. The BIOS was updated with no problems. I got another Kingston SSD from Amazon and recloneed the HDD again to it I installed it in the PC, and shakily turned the pc on, and went into the BIOS, and the Bios recognized the SSD!! I let it boot into Windows and my program started without a hitch.
funny thing, Kingston Toolbox didn't recognize that the counterfeit SSD had been installed, which is more prof that the SSD was counterfeit. I am helping Kingston investigate the seller.thanks to all who orffered advice re. this problem.
