I recently upgraded to an I7-6700k and had a question about my temps. Mobo is a Gigabyte Ga z170x gaming 7. I have a hyper 212x cooler installed and when I first was checking my temps after the install, the cpu was running 30°c at idle, and around 65°c under load, with auto voltage in the bios. That seemed a little high to me so I manually set the voltage to stock (1.3v), and now my idle temp is around 32°c, and around 57°c under heavy load. I am just wondering if that seems normal to everyone. I am coming from an AMD processor so I'm not real familiar with intel cpu's. Any help is greatly appreciated.

No I have not overclocked, yet. I really dont see any need to currently because my build is already overkill for the games I play. I have a Gigabyte gtx 970 xtreme paired with the processor currently, with plans for sli later. I guess I just really thought it was wierd that the auto voltage was causing higher temperatures.

Hi,

I have an i7-6700k with a bequiet shadow rock slim on a maximus hero viii mobo without any overclocking. So basically, same rig as you.
I think your temps are normal: I have 28-30° on idle and 55-60° under load (a recent AAA game and a few softwares opened, so not an heavy load).
