2 Xeon w5580 vs I7 4790K

I want to know what one would work the best. I mean 2 Xeon for 120 Isn't bad, or buy a 4790K for 300. So what I want to know if 2 Xeons would over perform a 4790K. I also know that the Xeons run a lot hotter. What i want to do is record/game/rendering all at the same time and i would want to know if a Xeon would hold it "A" game vs the 4790K.

For gaming, single core clock speed is typically going to be the most important so the i7 would absolutely smoke the Xeons, plus it can be OCed where the Xeons I don't believe can be at all.

The socket type is another factor. 1366 is going to limit MB choices and upgrade paths, though 1150 is pretty much dead now as well

so basicly the 120 set up is cheaper and will out perform a 4790K?
