laptop random shutdown

I have an HP pavilion dv6700 series. All of sudden it randomly shuts down, maybe before it even boots, or it might run for a week before it does it. Took it apart through cleaning, changed thermal paste,start it back up still same problem.

It sounds like a internal hardware problem hp needs to look into and fix directly.
Your laptop may not have its warrenty,however still give them a call.
Tier 2 or Tier 3 technical support will waive that fee and help you out once if they decide to.
If they find out the laptop is faulty and want to do rma support do so and register with them.
Ship the laptop usps priority mail small flat rate box so it will get there quickly.

When did this problem begin happening, also when it shut down randomly what were you doing at those times ?
If we can figure that out I should be able to tell you its an issue hp may need to fix.
However read this provided link, set the battery option to sleep after 1 hour, on the cord set it to never.
On the display, set that to never, look for a option for close lid, set it to put to sleep mode and click apply/ok.

Not sure when it started. You don't have to be doing anything,just at idle. It might even shutdown before it fully boots. Was able to keep it running long enough to check cpu temp. of 67celcius. Thanks for any help.
