Spec:
Windows 10 (64 bit)
Intel i7 6700k
16gb DDR4
Msi Z170A gaming M9 Ack
MSI GTX 980ti
120gb ssd samsung evo
1TB Hdd

I'm having a problem with this Pc that I built recently and it just seems quite sluggish, I don't know if my expectations are to high but it just doesn't feel right even on the desktop, programmes take a while to load up. It struggles running games like The Forest and Warhammer: Vertmintide and the loading screens are way too long, but will run Tomb Raider no problem. My brother recently built the similar Pc and he's is running like a dream. Could it be the power supply (Seasonic M12 Bronze 620w) everything is fine temp wise. I'm completely stumped one what it could be.

Solution
So you installed the games in your ssd and retested?

If that is not the case then you have a problem in your hardware or the drivers at least. The fact that Tomb Raider runs good points to a cpu problem. Check with cpuz or any other monitoring software if your cpu runs as it should. It could be running under clocked for a variety of reasons.

Your ssd is quite small for games. Are all your games installed in your ssd? If they are installed in the hdd that would account for the big loading times and the occasional performance spike inside the game.

Also what is your monitor's resolution? Is it 4k? If yes again a single 980ti would struggle to run those titles in 4k.
