Hello I am looking to purchase (2) more hard drives 2 TB each and I was going to buy (2) WD black hard drives, however a friend of mine at work told me I should look into WD Re's. So now I am on here asking that question before I make a choice.

I use the hard drives for storage but I am constantly editing the files on the hard drives and my friend said if you are just storing files then get the WD blacks but since I am always editing the files and constantly pulling the files off and on the drives it would be a wiser choice for the WD Re.

Both have 5 year warranties so I don't think it matters but wanted to check with people that know more than me first.

Forgot to say, I wont be putting these in raid. I am using these in 2 different computer setups 1- 2tb drive for each computer.

Thanks in advance.

WD Re are enterprise drives, so they cope better with vibration and RAID, and may also last longer when in heavy use 24/7. But unless you edit while you sleep, it really shouldn't matter. I would recommend just getting whichever is cheaper.
