I just ordered this gaming desktop as a late Vday gift for my BF (I understand most of basics when it comes selecting the proper components) but I just wanted someone a bit more tech savvy to take a look at what I selected. He's been using a PS4 but it recently broke on him. I've been told PC gaming is a better experience (and he's a pretty avid gamer) so I decided to buy him a desktop over another console. Will it run these newer graphically demanding games somewhat better than your everyday console? Basically, if your girlfriend got this for you (as a gamer) would it be a disappointment?

Those are normal specs for a decent gaming computer, but since he likely has a bunch of PS4 games, he may be better off with a PS4. Otherwise any game he has for that will have to be purchased for the computer. You may want to change the power supply from the Corsair CX to another model though, the CX models are known to have reliability issues in gaming systems. If you will stick with the PC that is.

PC games and console gamers are different people really, unless he happens to want to play on a computer just never got around to buying or building one.
