Installing Linux on a primarily Windows machine.

I know that in the past windows and Linux were weird together as the bootloader for Windows had to be present first, is that still true for Windows 10? If I want to install linux, will I have to install linux first, then windows?

Solution

Actually, it does not matter. If you install Linux first, then Windows, you can use utility like EasyBCD to add Linux to Windows boot menu. In fact, I prefer this way for computers where Windows is the primary OS (in Windodws 10, boot menu appears when Windows is almost loaded).

What happens if I don't use EasyBCD?

So if I install Linux right now, with my machine running windows 10, I will be fine and my computer will not implode in on itself?
