Routers and networking cards my router is 300mbps and I want to buy a network card if I get one says 802.1 or something like t

Solution
What router do you have - make & model?

I recommend that you purchase the same brand network card to avoid any finger pointing if problems occur.

Your network will only be as fast as the slowest link. You can purchase a network card that is faster than your router as a way of "future proofing" untill you get a new router.

However, you do need to google the wireless standards and gain some understanding of the speeds and options available.
