I'm going to start buying the parts off my list, this has been a work in progress for the past week or so figuring out exactly what I want. Please give any suggestions or changes you would recommend. No gpu yet, may just go with on board graphics to start out with, although new egg does have VGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Superclocked for $100 right now and I was considering going with it. Thanks!

This will be a general use PC, multitasking, perhaps some light video editing and gaming. It's been years since I've done any pc gaming, will probably delve back into it. Probably more PC than I need, however I'd rather have more now than to spend a little less just to turn around and upgrade right away

Dropped down from the unlocked Skylake i5 to a locked Haswell i5. Performance will be similar although you won't be able to overclock this CPU. With the money saved I upgraded the graphics card to a 4GB R9 380, a significant improvement coming from the 750ti. Games will be playable around high settings at 1080p.

I also changed the 250GB SSD to a 1TB drive. If you are looking to get back into gaming some of the popular titles are over 50GB and the SSD will fill up in no time.
