So I'm trying to breath life back into an old system. Problem is, the parts are so old I'm not familiar with the technology. So I have a question about the ram compatibility. The motherboard is a MSI ms 7512 (https://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/P45_Platinum__P45_Zilent.html#hero-overview). I want to upgrade (replace) the ram to 8gb. I want to know if the motherboard can use ram high density ram and if it will be slower. The ram specifically in question is this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-8GB-4x2GB-PC2-6400-DDR2-800MHz-240pin-DIMM-Desktop-Memory-AMD-Motherboard-/281708722329?hash=item419725f899:g:tvcAAOSwa-dWqHXx
It says it's AMD only, but it also says it "will not work on ALL Intel motherboards", implying that it will work on some. I know that ram is not brand specific, but I'm not taking any chances. The ram's product number is hy5ps1g431c fp-y5, manual is http://www.datasheetarchive.com/dlmain/Datasheets-13/DSA-255299.pdf
Thanks for your time
EDIT: Motherboard link was incorrect. It should be https://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/P45_Neo2.html#hero-overview
