ASRock Extreme4 x99 and m.2 first time installation and UEFI/BIOS setup Trouble

Just finished building with ASRock Extreme4 x99 motherboard, Just connected m.2 module to install OS first and an optical drive to boot from first, I went to Boot Options by pressing F2 on startup (startup boots up so quick usually I don't have time to read any of the other options so I just keep pressing F2) in 'BOOT' menu at UEFI (Attaching Photos)

*Please note that I actually physically connected Optical BluRay/DVD Drive on S_SATA3_1 (so I don't know why it is taking 2 First Boot Options with same names; it says S_SATA3_1 and then next one is Listed UEFI;HL-DT-ST I think that's also BluRay Drive?) and then Boot Option #3 it does show "N1-Samsung SSD.."T

Yes I was able to boot from Optical Drive with Win 7 Pro CD, So I thought it will let me choose m.2 drive to create partition and have WIN 7 installed there before I activate after first installation to upgrade to Win 10,

However as you can see in the last Photo Windows DON'T see any physical drives to install itself?

This is my very first time dealing with m.2 module ssd I read that it is better to just have module in there first to install OS and then add other SSD drives for additional drives so that's how I started since I want m.2 to have OS/Programs going forward,
Any input will be appreciated,
Thanks!

Thats odd. It seems like Windows 7 is creating the boot partition but then freaking out since it is an NVMe drive which needs different settings to boot than SATA on AHCI.

Have you tried my suggestion of trying a 10 install? You can download the ISO for free from Microsoft or even make a USB bootable thumb drive.
Windows 7 is annoying in that if it sees another formatted drive in it will use it for the hidden boot partition instead of the drive you install Windows on.

That said, when you load the 7 installation you need to make sure that you select the UEFI boot option for the Windows 7 DVD as M.2 only works with UEFI.

Second you will probably have to load drivers for the drive or M.2 slot for Windows 7 to see it properly as it probably does not have the proper drivers for NVMe based drives.

Thanks Jimmy as always, I sensed that you may have been around to reply, so I am very glad,

how do you select UEFI boot option is it something on that UEFI menu I need to switch to? (it used to be called BIOS last time I fiddled around computers!)

also let me ask you this then;
would it be possible,
1-I took out m.2 for now, and just connect to one physical ssd, (hoping that win7 will install to that one fine)
restart, connect to internet, have it activated and all that, and then have it upgrade to windows 10 as well and activate that as well,
that way this computer is registered with Win 10 MS Servers as activated computer for win 10, and then at that point I take out that SSD, put the m.2 module back in, this time have a clean install Win 10 USB to Boot from, and then since the computer is already activated have that one installed if Win 10 is better for m.2?

Do I make sense at all? if I have to do switch anything on BIOS/UEFI after I get to that screen, please let me know! I will try to figure out...

I would try to install the the M.2, it would be easier.

You look to have UEFI enabled, in one of your screenshots it looks like the Blu-Ray has a UEFI option.

Check your manual but you should be able to load a Boot Menu, I think you press F12 for ASRock but check your manual, and from there you will have the ability to select what to boot to. Look for the UEFI: HL-DT-ST and press enter. Then follow the normal 7 install.

I apologize for asking too many questions just checking the manual as we speak, the UEFI selection would be at the Boot menu or before I press F12, there is another boot menu that I can press to get to that separate menu? I am trying as we speak...

I think I saw to press F11 to 'Boot Menu' it said, that screen passes so fast that I can't see and the writing is extremely small on screen, I pressed F11 for Boot Menu still waiting for it to come up...

After I went with Method 1 on that ASRock Link, and downloaded nvme drivers it started to install, up until I got a an error saying that the installation needs to restart?? which was a let down as I thought it was working, then I restarted also tried what they did on this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=No-ct8pQcIg

That didn't work either, now I go back to that ASRock method, I see all these new Partitions

I deleted all the partitions, same place same error! I have the feeling something I enable or disable in UEFI Bios makes this windows install impossible to boot 'into the next phase of installation' I wonder what will do the trick...

I am currently not sure. Will dig some more to see if your board needs something else.

One thing you could try is downloading the Windows 10 ISO for the version you have then running that install to the M.2 SSD and using your Windows 7 product key. I have heard that the newest version should be able to take 7/8.1 keys and activate.

Just the same error, Again after uefi update:

this time instead 'rebooting' with anger I went back to install welcome screen but chose 'windows repair' only to see these messages, I didnt reboot yet at all since the same error was finalized during install, something to do with rebooting correctly?? what do you think?

I deleted all the partitions again and just installing win 10 we shall see... it is so slow though, I thought this m.2 drives are fast, even though it is installed going back and forth at UEFI I realized ultra m.2 drive is not recognized, I don't know how that is possible... without recognizing installing it...
