Hey guys.

My gaming rig has shut down on it's own 3 times in the past 24 hours. I'm curious what you think the issue may be.

Specs:

-Corsair Graphite Series 760T Black Full Tower Windowed Case
-Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM
-Samsung EVO 850 250GB SSD (only running an SSD, need to hook up my HDD that I bought)
-MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G GPU
-Intel i-7 4790 Devil's Canyon CPU @4.0GHZ (not overclocked)
-MSI Z97-Gaming 7 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
-CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A1866C9R
-CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Side note: I also have a WD Black 3TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD3003FZEX available that I need to hook-up.

Last week I purchased a Razer Mamba TE Chroma Mouse and a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2014 keyboard. They are nice and love the glows.

The shut-down's do not result in a blue screen. They are as if I turned the computer off. I have about 3-4 fan's running for my case. One in the front, one in the back, one on the top, two fanning the CPU fan to keep that extra cool. This is the first time any of this has ever happened. I was told that I should replace the thermal paste every 6 months. To be honest, my bud who knows more about PC's than I do helped me build this and I learned a bunch along the way but I am afraid to put new thermal paste (don't want to kill my CPU which is over $300).

I'm thinking this sounds like it might be a power issue that is protecting the CPU but maybe I have settings wrong in my Windows 7 setup areas? MSI included some software for help controlling the motherboard.

Also I am not gaming when these shutdowns occurs. A couple were while watching Netflix and the third was while converting a video file.

I've included a link to imgur with a pic of the inside of my PC as well as two screenshots of the MSI Command Center CPU area. I can't tell if this is a CPU, PSU, or software/need to change some option issue. Not sure if it matters but I took one screenshot of the CPU frequencies at 800, and another around 4400, it kept fluctuating. You can also see in the top right corner that it says my PC is running between 31 - 40 Celsius.

Any ideas?

Solution
My old PC had this issue due to an improperly seated graphics card. Ensure your graphics card is properly installed and give it a firm push into the motherboard socket.
