Using prime 95 and haswell DC

Can I use prime 95 to stress test my 4790k? The version I have is 27.7

Yes. Or as I said, you can use Asus Realbench which will put real world usage to your CPU. Prime95 is only good for if you want to see what your max 100% load temps would be but nothing will normally load your CPU like Prime95 can.
