Need help double checking my $3500(ish) AUD build.

Hi guys,
Posting my system build here to see if there is anything I can improve upon in here within a similar price range. The CPU debacle has been through the fire already, choosing 6600k OC to 4.6Ghz over i7 6700k because of the CLC being transferable in the future should I upgrade to the new architecture in a year or so and hyperthreading not being prominent in games.
Running everything at ultra settings on 1080p 144hz monitor.

Post any suggestions below!

I am a little concerned that you'd spend $170 on fans - surely that's not a great use of money, right, you could get the i7 with that difference.

And while mechanical keyboards are nice, most people go with Cherry switches and end up with keyboards costing a good bit less than $200. I'm not sure what the reviews are on that guy, IIRC they weren't that nice. If you like the aesthetic, I wouldn't say don't do it but IMO it's too gimmicky. Considering its $3500 AUD with a $560 1440p monitor, $200 keyboard, and $170 in fans the price makes more sense to me. The 980Ti + 1440p should work well for you and the core of your system is great.

The fans are there because I needed PWM fans for the case, as the ones that come with it are only 3 pin fans which will run at 100% unless I get a fan controller. Figured I might as well go for the noctuas given the limited airflow and crummy radiator fans.
1440p 144hz monitors in AUS are upwards of 900 dollars, with the exception of the BenQ XL2730Z which has reports of poor quality control. 1080p games are hard to run at ultra nowadays as is, even with a 980ti! :O so 1080p is the best option at the moment, 1440p upgrade will be when they go down in price.

That's the current plan, waiting till april for the GTX 980ti to drop in price then pulling the trigger on it.
