Cpu: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 6-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 125W
Motherboard: ASUS M5A88-V EVO AM3+ AMD 880G
Psu: 500W (can't find the name in my order history)
Gpu: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7950 DirectX 11 100352-2L 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5
Ram: Patriot Gamer 2 Series, Division 2 Edition 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
Storage: PNY CS1311 240g and 1tb hdd
Cpu fan: Stock

Trying to prolong the life of my computer, until I can afford a thorough upgrade to and i5 or i7.
I've been running at stock speeds since I got it, knowing that it could be OC'd but never really needing it. Now I am noticing some slow downs while running Battlefield 4 on the Highest Settings. First attempt to overclock, using the built-in clock speeds, I tried the 3.7Ghz and was stable and smooth until 3 minutes into the match and I suffered a BSoD.

What do I NEED to replace in order to be able to succeed with overclocking this current build?

I'm considering upgrading to G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866, as the Ram is what I think to be the largest concern.

Any advice and direction is much appreciated.

Solution
There's always a good old stand by "Cooler Master 212 Evo" that so many use or something in that class.
As for what to base it on. At least120mm fan with possibility to mount two, 4 to 6 heat pipes, universal mountings so you can reuse it if you change MB and of course height to fit in the case.
