Could there be any potential issues with fitting a 120mm liquid cooling fan into a 92mm slot?

I want to put a liquid cpu cooler into my computer, however, I have an issue. The liquid cooling fan I want to get requires a 120mm space for the fan. My case can only fit a 92mm. If I drill holes into my tower to fit the fan, some of the case wall will be blocking the fan. I am worried that hot air the fan is trying to release out of my case will circulate in my tower due to this small blockage. Is this an issue?

You can take precautions to make sure the heat doesn't end up in the case.

You can get pretty much any 120mm rubber case fan gasket/silencer which, apart from dampening vibration transfer, should prevent any air from going from the fan area to the inside of your case.

That wont be a good idea because there are possibilities of messing up the screwing holes, pump overheat from little airflow, not to mention drilling holes in a case to fit bigger things is verry unprofessional, i would advise running the radiator outside the case for now, and buy a case later. Or if you are good with aluminium handling you can patent something good.
