I have a Brother HL-2240 laser printer and in the past I have simply been able to refill the OEM cartridge with toner without a reset gear kit without any hassles. Yesterday the toner light went on and it appears the chip is recognizing the toner depleted and just refilling it myself did not work. I know there are a bunch of videos on youtube using an aftermarket reset gear but is there any other way to bypass this nonsense, aka the chip, in this printer so i can just fill and printer myself?
