soo ive never had any issues with my computer and after post completes it hangs with a white ticker top left before booting into windows..

i used the recovery cd to see if i could use the start up repair and it failed and gave a log file of srt something in the windows directory.

refresh failed also.

i changed the startup to dvd/cd first obviously and instead of hitting a key i waited for it to pass to the 2nd boot option which was my ssd and it went into windows fine..

my question is what the heck lol?

i have fail-safe defaults for my computer checked in the bios(v1.13)

Usually if a drive is failing it shows up in the short test so it is probably not the drive(s). It could be the controller but highly unlikely.

I would try changing the connectors the drives are connected to. If you have another computer or hard drive try either another bootable hard drive or move your hard drive to another computer to rule this out. Another thing you might try is disconnecting the storage drive and just boot off of the SSD. It is all about narrowing it down through troubleshooting.

These kind of problems are the hardest to fix because your computer is not broke, it just is not running properly (which could be a sign of it dieing).

thanks for the response! i have since been backing up all my improtant stuff on my external hard drive and am gonna first clean my inside, do the process of eliminating ect between 2 pcs i have and we shall see. the seagate hard drive always has the sound of starting to spin and boot after idling for awhile and if i go to click on something it has a delay.. but its not my OS drive.. although the "pointers" or shortcuts stay on the ssd they are actually on the hard drive. something i may consider
