Is EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Superclocked 1536 MB Good Enough for Casual Gaming?

Solution
GTX580 can be compared roughly to a GTX960, though not quite, really compares closer to a GTX660Ti or a GTX760. The older architecture has a lot more compute potential and has a 384bit bus which can be advantageous for some games. It does bog down on some recent titles when it comes to VRAM though, but so would a 1GB 750Ti.

If you are looking for one I should have two ASUS DCUII GTX580 available very soon. In a price check from yesterday I see them going for as low as $65...

How much are you paying for it? A 750 ti would set you back about 130 bucks and work great. An R7 370 Would be even better at around 150 bucks. But we need to know your budget and the rest of your system to make a more informed advice.

My friend has been borrowing my pair for about a year but ordered a GTX970 earlier in the week. I honestly don't know what to do with them, thought I would pass them on before they become truly obsolete. Too big to fit in my other systems, and would be overkill anyway.

You have your choice of the original air cooler, or an Arctic Accelero Hybrid kit. They used to match, but one of the pumps failed. Couple of pictures if you follow the links in my signature.

Be forewarned, these are triple slot cards, not the standard dual. They have a very heavy cooler (but it is really effective)

Doesn't matter much have extra builds getting ready but no cheap graphics solution and gtx 580 sits at a nice spot for what it will be doing
