SSDs And Recording Gameplay Footage?

I try to use DXTORY for recording gameplay footage. However, it seems my 7200 RPM WD Blue isn't fast enough for it so I get laggy footage. If I bought an SSD would the write speeds be fine and therefore good footage? For 1080p 60Fps.

Or should I just buy an Elgato game capture card? I only have 1 PC that I can use though.

Im currently recording to a second HDD (the one my OS is not on, but its not external) but recording to my HDD is just as slow.

its true that a with a SSd and recording footage you will lagg less.
also that can impact the performance of your gameplay while recording is the recording software itself.
and last I've used an elgato in the past and you won't lagg while you record footage from your ps3/ps4.
