I am trying to connect to my home wireless network but when I view the ipconfig/all I don't have a default gateway.

If you have a wireless adaptor or card you will need to make sure that the router is using the right freq. most routers use 2.4 and newer ones can use 5. make sure you are using 2.4ghz. that might be a reason you can't see it or you might be to far away from the router.
