I recently wanted to upgrade my laptop's internal hard drive from 500gb to 2 TB but was told that my laptop might not support it. And so the seller asked me to go with 1TB.

I really need a 2TB hard drive for my laptop for all the storage. So needed to know how can I know whether my laptop will support 2TB or not.

Your help will be appreciated. Thanks In advance...

Although I have upgraded my RAM recently to its max.

There shouldn't be anything else. You'll just have to reinstall windows and your programs. By installing windows on the drive it'll reformat it so that it can read it properly. just make sure your bios is up to date before hand.

Thanks for the reply... reading recent blogs I got to know that it has even got to do something with my BIOS settings and it must be UEFI. For reference: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2581408

If there is anything else I should know before upgrading I would be Grateful

Thanks for the reply. Although I havn't thought about it yet. But since you suggested I might upgrade that too later, but for now upgrading to just the 2TB alone, will it make a huge issue considering speed?
