Will 2TB internal hard drive support my laptop?

I recently wanted to upgrade my laptop's internal hard drive from 500gb to 2 TB but was told that my laptop might not support it. And so the seller asked me to go with 1TB.

I really need a 2TB hard drive for my laptop for all the storage. So needed to know how can I know whether my laptop will support 2TB or not.

Your help will be appreciated. Thanks In advance...

There shouldn't be anything else. You'll just have to reinstall windows and your programs. By installing windows on the drive it'll reformat it so that it can read it properly. just make sure your bios is up to date before hand.

A 2TB internal disk will be a 5400 RPM disk which will be slow for a lot of things. Have you considered an internal SSD with a multi-terabyte USB 3.0 external disk for the larger data?

Slow hard drives just make EVERYTHING slow. If you have used a computer with an SSD you will never go back.
