I am in the process of a build and just received my processor and memory (i7-5820k and DDR4-3000 memory).

Upon reading the instructions, I noticed that the processor says it supports up to DDR4-2133 memory.

Is the DDR4-3000 memory going to cause a problem? Will it still work if I underclock it 2133? I really don't care if I get the full 3000 performance, I just want it to work.

If it matters, I am using an MSI X99A motherboard. Thanks in advance!

The Motherboard supports overclocked RAM. So it should work. But dont be dissappointed if it maybe only works up to 2800. Everything above is not working all the time and may Need some tweaking. What RAM do you got?
Sure, there is no Problem with underclocking at 2133. Just try how high you can get it.
