I want to upgrade my ram from 8gb to 16gb. I have 2x4gb corsair vengeance 1600MHz right now. My motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 can handle up to 2200MHz ram speed (overclocked).

I want to get this:
http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-2400MHz-Memory-CMY16GX3M2A2400C11A/dp/B00FMRV8I4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1455851458&sr=8-3&keywords=corsair+16gb

Only $80 right now and it is 2400MHz. Could I just use these and set the ram speed in my bios to 2200MHz and it will run at that speed?

I would just use the same ram I have now but in the 2x8gb kit, but the 2400MHz is actually cheaper, and may be faster if I overclock it?

I have an i5 2500k overclocked to 4.5

Would there be any issue with this? Would I be better off just getting the 2x8gb version of the Corsair 1600MHz I already have?

I did just look it up in the BIOS and my current setting is 1648MHz

The two highest settings listed are 2197MHZ (maybe this is the 2133 ?) and 2472MHz (maybe this is 2400 ?)
I have no idea

But could I get the 2400MHz ram and just set in my BIOS to the highest it allows?
Is that a bad idea?

I'm starting to lean already to just get the same 1600MHz I already have but in 2x8gb. Seems may be safer
