NIC Unable to Start ASRock IMB-370-L

I have several of these setups and I have started to notice an error when starting them up, they have the following error:
Initializing Intel(R) Boot Agent CE v1.2.36
PXE-E05: The LAN adapter's configuration is corrupted or has not been initialized.
The Boot Agent cannot continue.

I have followed every recommendation and boot from LAN is turned off, and i finally got rid of this error by running , the Intel Boot Agent Utility and reloading the default config to the NIC (as described here : http://www.opal-rt.com/KMP/index.php?/article/AA-00588/0/PXE-E05-boot-error.html ). the only problem is that now the NIC is not working, I have tried every driver I can, but I still get the error 10 device cannot start, even though it is recognized and a driver is installed. I have many more of these units but I am afraid to move ahead until I figure out what is an actual fix for this, that does not result in a problem that is actually worse. I also updated to the most recent bios and this has not resolved anything either, please help, I am struggling to get this going, and I need to move ahead with fixing the rest if I there is a solution.

A couple of questions.

Are you trying to PXE boot to a PXE server?

- Most computers try to boot from a bootable device first then if one is not available, they will try to boot from a PXE server. Then if your NIC's EEPROM is not configured with the proper PXE server information, you will get the error you have above.

- I am guessing here but I think you really want to boot from the hard drive and the real issue is that your hard drive is not showing up as bootable some times. If this is the case then you may have a hard drive that is failing or you hard drive controller is failing. You might want to do a SMART test or a CHKDSK on your hard drive.

As for your NIC issues. What OS do you have?

but I always get advice from the manufacture before I do any firmware updates. I would open a case with ASrock first...

Also if it is the for mentioned HDD controller then you might want to bring that up with ASrock as well.

I am not trying to PXE boot
I have boot from lan disabled and have it set to only boot from the SSD.
It boots fine from the hard drive and issue with the boot error was resolved (it was still booting to windows, just giving the error first), I was just giving the back story. The issue is that the NIC is not working now that I flashed the eeprom per the instructions. It is Windows 7 and I have numerous of these systems using the exact same setup. I had already tried running that NVRAM update and it states "Failed to Initialize adapter" and then "no update required"
I opened a case with asrock, as this is not the only unit with these problems, I have at least 11 of them in use and 3 that I know of are having this issue.

I know you disabled the PXE boot but just out of curiosity does the NIC still show as one of the items in your Boot Order. If it does try moving it to the bottom of the list. My guess is that there is some sort of firmware problem like you stated and ASrock should get back to you but it is something you could try in the mean time.

The lan is not in the boot order and that is no longer a problem. In the initial post, I was just giving the back story of how I have arrived here. The booting issue is fixed, there is nothing wrong with booting anymore. Even when it was giving the Intel Boot Agent error (as listed above), the machine would still start and run fine, I just wanted to resolve that issue which I did, and after that fix, it has lead to this issue, that I cannot seem to find a resolution for.

I just don't want to apply the fix to the other panel PCs if there is a potential risk of stopping the Lan adapters from functioning.
