Xbox One Controller Won't Turn on After Having Connected to PC

I got and Xbox One finally today. I used my controller with my console and it worked fine. It's an AA one, not a battery pack one.

I connected it to my PC to test out there as well, ran GlovePIE it worked fine, stopped the script, closed GlovePIE and now it won't turn on. It works fine with both console and PC when USB connected. But it won't turn on by itself. Yes, I have tried new batteries. When I say new, I mean I literally just went out to get some specially for this.

Many thanks,
Alex.

Why would you need glovePIE? You don't need that to use an xbox controller on pc, you just plug it in it will download the driver automatically and it will work, are you like trying to use it as a mouse or something for controlling the desktop?

As for the controller not turning on im not sure what the solution is if that software your using did it. Try using a different usb port or a different micro usb cable.

I had been using GlovePIE with an old 360 PC controller, and having plugged it in it tried to install, but took longer than usual. So I cancelled that and ran GP. It worked like I expected it to. I didn't know that Xbox One controllers would work without software.

Would Xbox know what to do or how to fix it if I reported it?

OMG WHAT A TWONK I AM!

*FALSE ALARM*

Facepalm. Needless to say.

I am new to Xbox altogether, let alone the One. I didn't put the batteries in the right way round. Simple as that. Something I've never done before in my entire life. It's because of the way that the spring pads are both on the same side. Whilst I was inspecting the controller more carefully I saw the positive and negative symbols.

Cheers,
Alex.
