Christmas of 2015, I rebuilt my PC. Everything functions properly except two things. Sometimes, I hear the Windows popup notification sound, and my display goes out. Mind you, the PC is still on and active. In order to fix it, I have to restart my PC. I also noticed, sometimes after school (About once every month, or when doing a PC Scan) my PC locks up and blue screens. I don't know why is does it when I'm not on it, but when I log in I look at the error details and it says it blue screened. Help?

Can you please pass on your full systems specs inclusive of your OS and GPU? Have you made sure your BIOS as well as your device drivers are all up to date? Might I ask, what sort of rebuilding did you do on your system? Was it a change in ram or motherboard? If you're on Windows 10 then the swap has given the OS an upset stomach.

If you've made changes to your OS drive then it's always advised to reinstall your OS. Blue screens can come about from pretty much any angle or corner so without necessary details as asked above aren't presented we won't have much to pass on save for speculations. Depending on the BSOD's you may even need to dig into .dmp files.

My 2 cents
:)

I rebuilt the ENTIRE PC except the case. It's not crashing so much anymore, and the video problem was Nvidia driver's fault. One of the updates labeled the GFX card as removable media, and would give me an error that said "There was a problem removing NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970" And then the screen just wouldn't show.
