My motherboard went out recently. I just got it back from the MSI RMA Factory yesterday, and I set it up as soon as I got it, and everything worked fine again. I had a program running on my computer during the night, today when I woke up and turned on the monitor there was no image on the display.

I turned it off and on again, still nothing. Then I took out the video card and connected the mobo directly to the display. But when I rebooted there was still no image on screen.
Any ideas what may be causing this?

Solution
It is very difficult for the psu to hurt the mobo or any other part when all cables have been connected properly. My guess as I said above seems that the rma gone wrong. It is not unheard of and there have been a lot of complaints for msi's quality control. So I'd send it back again. A lot of times the rma parts are refurbished.

The first mobo went out, and the computer would no longer boot up, no fans, no lights, no beeps, nothing. I would press the power button, and the CPU fan would move about a cm then stop, but nothing else. It was working fine yesterday, but now it will provide no video to the monitor. From observation everything seems to be functioning, all the lights and fans are on, even the video cards light is on when seated in mobo.

Just nothing will display. Not sure what is wrong, but I'd hate to have to send it back to MSI again. Any signs I should be looking for?

It seems like a power issue to me. My guess at this point is that the mobo is again busted or that the power supply is malfunctioning. Although the g2 are very respectable power supplies doesn't mean that they don't break.

If you can, find a second power supply and test. Also if you are going to try anything it is better to use only one stick of memory, minimizing the factors. The only other thing that comes into mind is a bad cpu seating or cooler installation. You could try reseating the cpu and the cooler.

The first thing I did after first rebooting was to remove the ram and try with one stick, then to remove video card and use the i5s gpu capability. Then I tried reseating the cpu and cooler, but that didn't help either.
I also just finished trying with a different and well working power supply, but that also brought no change to its inability to display an image.

I was wondering if there is someway my powersupply could have damaged the mobo? It is a high quality PSU, but if is was malfunctioning without signs of such, could it have fired the mobo?
If not the PSU however, I suppose I will have to contact MSI and return it once again.
