I am about to build a budget pc for gaming (just need to get some money first), and I was considering Gigabyte GTX 750 ti 4gb OC for my build, but I noticed that MSI GTX 950 2gb is about the same price. Do the +2gb make a difference, and is there a catch. GTX 950 Spec wise is better, and gives more fps than 750 Ti 2gb (around +5-10 FPS). I want to build a some what future proof PC, but I am low on budget. Around 500$ max (around 250$ for graphics).

Solution
950 will give better graphics and better FPS as the 750ti is older and not as fast in general. The 950 in some games like GTA 5 lack enough vram to turn up certain texture settings, but the 750ti won't run that game well. Its lose-lose with those cards for future proofness. Definetly try to get a 960/380/380x

Neither of those GPU's are exactly "future proof" but the 950 performs better. It depends on what you want, the 750ti will have the vram to run newer games, but by the time games get to absolutely needing that amount, that card won't be able to run them. Exact opposite story of 950, it will run the new games but it will run out of vram causing lag. Up it to a 960/380/380x for gpu.

So If I want graphics I go with 950, and If I want FPS I go with 750 Ti. I want to run next gen games on At least medium-high with around 60fps, so I should go with 750 Ti? But If I can get 960/380/380x in my budget I definetily go with them. And does the manufacturer really make a difference. Like Asus, gigabyte and all of those. If its cheaper, it's much worse considering they have the same chipset?

Thank you for your response. So I guess I will try to get gtx 960 4gb. Maybe work a bit more to get some money, so I dont have to upgrade so soon, and I could run games like a PC should run them.
